“Responsibilty”

1. I think people make excuses in life because, they are weak. They don’t want to go out there and try something new.

2. One of the excuses that I make often is, “Oh that’s Marisa’s stuff lying on the floor upstairs.” I often make this excuse because, my room is very messy and I haven’t been cleaning my room because, my parents have been working on my room with like organizing my room because I got rid of my twin bed and got my grandma’s full size bed. I think that excuse is getting old because, my dad makes fun of me now when I say it. :[

3. How I can stop making excuses of my room is istead of watching T.V. and being bored ... I should one of these days actually CLEAN my room. But for me I have better things to do like get outside, until it gets to cold then I will actually clean my room for good. :]

Raising the Blinds

1. Peggy’s last year of high school was rough because, her parents split after 20 years of marriage. And she didn’t feel like she belonged to her family because, all her parents really thought about is finalizing their divorce so they didn’t include her in any such way.

2. I think Peggy became so attached to Tommy because, when it was her last year of high school her parents kind of stopped talked talking to her just to get their divorce finalized. She really didn’t have any friends she also felt invisable to the world. When she started to go out with Tommy she felt like she had a friend forever one that wouldn’t leave her

3. I think the turning point for Peggy was, her Spring Break of freshman year in college when she found out she was pregnant and so she decided to stop sneaking around with Tommy and go back home and attended a local community college. Peggy also decided to tell her mom the real truth about her grades and what she’d actually been doing. Peggy also thought it would be a better idea if she had gotten an abortion. But, you never find out if she does or not.

4. How Peggy changed is by actually going to school and taking it seriously. She didn’t go back to her regular college she came back home and attended a local Community College.

5. What I learned or can learn by Peggy is to take school seriously and don’t skip classes.

The Warrior Within Questions

1. Dawn turned her childhood anger into strength, by facing her problems in a different way. That means she stopped using drugs, she found a new husband and she went back to college for her degree.

2. I could support a friend who went through that trouble because, I would help them get better and I would be there when they needed me. I would do this because, then I know if I had something wrong they would always be there for me.

3. Dawn Cogliser was similar to Eleanor Roosevelt because, Eleanor was made fun of when she was a little girl and no one believed in her expect for her dad but he died. And no one thought that she’d become famous and neither did Dawn, she didn’t think that she’d go back to college and get her degree. So the similar side is, they didn’t believe in them self.

4. The quote that meant the most to me is “I’m just going to pick myself right back up and start over!” I chose this quote because, in the story it really stood out to me because, after all that she has been through this ends up really describing her very well at the end of the story.

“The Fist ,the Clay and the Rock

The quote I chose from this story was ,” So what would you like to be, people the rock or a piece of clay?” I like this because, its up for people to make their own decisions so this quote really explains something. The person who stated this was the teacher.

If I had to chose what to be I would chose to be a little bit of both because, clay explains me a little bit because, I get picked on by my sister and I can’t do anything about it because, if I started to pick on her I’d either get in trouble or hit by my sister. But I also chose a rock because, I am not a quitter I just try harder and get better.

“Zero”

After Paul floated trough high school by following the popular crowd he finally realized that college was going to be harder then he expected because, he never went to any of his classes in high school.  There wasn’t anyone to follow around. He didn’t have the skills to take notes or anything because, he never went to any classes in high school. So he decided to flunk out of college. Later that year though when everyone was out of college for spring break  he saw some of the people that he followed around in high school and they all made fun of him because, he was a college drop-out.
